Inspired by OIGC's music, mission, and dedication to diversity, Jorge joined our board a little over three years ago and has since become an integral part of our team. For two years, he served on our Executive Committee as Vice President, demonstrating exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to our mission.
During the challenging COVID years, Jorge's visionary approach led to the creation of an innovative virtual program, 'A Joyful Walk through Gospel.' His initiative combined with active outreach to DEI leaders at companies around the Bay Area not only brought the transformative power of our music to a wider audience during a time when joy and inspiration were needed but also paved the way for a series of new executive education and team-building offerings, which evolved into our OIGC @ the Office program. This innovative pivot was crucial in generating much-needed revenues during challenging times but also resulted in the recruitment of board members and establishing relationships with businesses that have been sustaining.
He has brought to OIGC his depth of knowledge and insight about business management, leadership, and marketing, which has helped us advance our institutional professionalism. One thing that sets Jorge apart is his level-headed and calm demeanor. He approaches every situation with thoughtfulness and a steady hand, making him an invaluable contributor to our organization. With more than 20 years of experience in executive education, leadership development, and high-tech industries, including an impressive international career, Jorge brings a wealth of expertise to our board. His educational background, including an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, speaks to his commitment to excellence.
Jorge is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese - and the world of international business. He advocates for and embodies the diverse spirit that makes OIGC so special.
