As we approach the winter season, and our 38th Annual Holiday Concert Series, I am filled with eager anticipation to experience this year’s joyful and powerful holiday performances. I am also filled with immense gratitude for everyone who has supported OIGC, especially during the challenges of recent years. This letter is an opportunity for me to express my heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support of OIGC and our commitment to living in harmony and bridging divides through the power of Black gospel music.
Ticket sales only cover a percentage of our costs. It is the financial support of community members like you that keeps OIGC able to do what we do best: spread joy and unity. We are proud of our commitment to transparency and good governance practices and thankful for your trust in our work. Over the last year, your donations enabled us to provide:
subsidized school-based CA-state-standard-aligned classroom choir instruction
mentorship and apprenticing for young singers and up-and-coming conductors
leadership and other confidence-building opportunities for youth
fee waivers for any singer who needs them
ticket subsidies to ensure that no one is turned away due to finances
